Make Him Go Away!

Let's connect the dots. First of all, we know Democratic Representative Charles Rangel from New York (what do you expect) already showed his stripes and intelligence by stating that it was discrimination to label Hezbollah an Islamic terror group. Now he's calling for the US to reinstate the draft because

"There's no question in my mind that this president and this administration would never have invaded Iraq, especially on the flimsy evidence that was presented to the Congress, if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way."

So much for a Democratic Congress claiming to work 'with' President Bush!

And here's another very telling statement from the Democratic fountain of wisdom:

"Rangel, a veteran of the Korean War who has unsuccessfully sponsored legislation on conscription in the past, has said the all-volunteer military disproportionately puts the burden of war on minorities and lower-income families."

Remember when John Kerry made his statement about going to college to get an education or else you'll end up in Iraq? And he claimed it was a 'botched joke'. In all fairness, I believe he did botch the joke...he doesn't have any problems showing disdain for the President of the United States and he is the kind of man that would make a joke about the leader of the greatest nation on earth being ignorant. But doesn't this statement by Rangel show that Democrats really do feel like those in the military are less educated? Isn't that what he means by "minorities and lower-income families"...those who can't afford college? Why is it so hard for Democrats in office to own up to who they really are? If they have all the answers for America like they claim, why do they keep trying to hide what they really think about America and the people they want to represent?

Could it be, that if America really understood how Democratic politicians felt about the people they want to represent that they would be run out of Washington (and, if we were lucky, chased into France or maybe even Iraq)?

I don't hate Democrats. I just hate ignorant thinking that tries to bring about things that are not good for our country. The thinking of people like Charles Rangel and John Kerry fit into this category.

What Democrat has ever stated that he or she has "all the answers"? Please support this staement.

"So much for a Democratic Congress claiming to work 'with' President Bush!"

What does proposing a piece of legislation have to do with working or not working with the president?

"But doesn't this statement by Rangel show that Democrats really do feel like those in the military are less educated? Isn't that what he means by "minorities and lower-income families"...those who can't afford college?"

Its interesting that both men who you accuse of looking down on those in the military are both veterans, have both been in combat, have both beedn wounded in combat, and have both been awarded the Bronze Star. Why would men like these look down on those in the military?

"Could it be, that if America really understood how Democratic politicians felt about the people they want to represent that they would be run out of Washington (and, if we were lucky, chased into France or maybe even Iraq)?"

If you have some insight into Democratic politicians that the rest of us Americans don't have, I wish you would do a better job of communicating that to us.

Wow, somebody (besides my family) is actually reading my blog...cool.

OK, Bill, to answer a few of your questions:

As to Democrats having "all the answers"
- Sorry if that was not obvious enough hyperbole. But that is, after all, why we elected a Democratic Congress this time around isn't it...because they had the 'answers' to all the 'troubles' Bush has caused us? They had no real platform besides "anti-Bush" and "anti-Iraq war".

"So much for a Democratic Congress claiming to work 'with' President Bush"
- I wasn't talking about his legislation, I was talking about his personal attack statement "if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way."

Why would men like these look down on the military?
- That is a GREAT question, Bill. Why indeed. Even if you can explain away all the Swift Boat arguments, perhaps you can get Senator Kerry to explain throwing back ribbons (but not his medals according to his testimony) at a Vietnam war protest in 1971. "Why?" is a GREAT question.

Insight into Democratic politicians?
- Uhh, isn't that what I just shared? Another example? Hillary Clinton is talking about her nationalized health care policy again (because the first abysmal failure apparently didn't send her a clear enough message). If this was such a great idea for the American people, why would she, as a member of Congress, exempt herself from the system but I, as a regular citizen, could not?

But hey, thanks for reading & commenting. Maybe more people will read my blog now. Do you blog? I thought perhaps you found my blog when logging into Blogger and you saw my blog scroll through the list of current posts, but I notice your name did not link to a blog.

I was just doing a blog search on Charlie Rangel and your blog came up. But you seem like a decent enough guy, so I'll keep reading it with an open mind.
